Sitting inside as I see kids playing outside, I hear the birds and feel the breeze through the open window. I am reminded of one main principal of Montessori learning- not all learning can be done in the classroom. I challenge you to think of all the ways you can use the coming spring weather to teach lessons to your children. What are some new ways that they can explore and experience the world around them?
TUESDAY MARCH 1st: 2 HOUR EARLY RELEASE: RELEASE @1:50 PM
SPRING DANCE
The HMM Spring Dance will be held on March 12th from 7pm-10pm at the Oasis Shriners (where it was held last year). Only 225 tickets will be sold. Order your tickets now before they sell out! if you have any questions, please contact the PTA at[email protected]
SLT (Student Leadership Team) Meetings
Join the SLT at their monthly meetings every 3rd Thursday at 8:30 am. The group gets together and discusses student/school decisions that are important to not only the school but our students as well. This is your opportunity to discover what is going on with the school and share concerns. All parents are urged to attend! The next meeting will be held on March 17th!! We have created a virtual option for parents who can’t attend as well: https://www.smore.com/0gcnm Please visit the virtual portal to get meeting minutes and become a part of the HMM community. CHILDCARE WILL BE PROVIDED.
Let Me Run Program
Let Me Run inspires boys through the power of running to be courageous enough to be themselves, to build healthy relationships, and to live an active lifestyle. All (insert 4th-8th) grade boys are invited to join us for the best spring season ever! Registration opens on February 15. www.letmerun.org/region/greater-charlotte-area/teams.
Teams meet two days a week for seven weeks on (insert days/times). Practice starts on (insert date). Topics discussed include anger management, goal setting, honesty, bullying, etc. The season ends with the Let Me Run 5k on May 21 in Whitehall Corporate Center. Spirit Rocks: BIRTHDAYS, SPECIAL EVENTS, OR SHOW HMM PRIDE!
HMM has two Spirit Rocks available for painting! If you'd like to paint the Spirit Rock, you must first check to see if the date is available on the Spirit Rock calendar here. If your date is available, then please fill out this form and send in $10 to HMM PTA. Once the money is received, the PTA will reserve the date on the calendar. Can’t wait to see all your beautiful Spirit Rock creations!
